Preco Electronics President & CEO
Welcome to 2017! Last year was particularly busy for all of us at PRECO Electronics with the release of two of our most advanced safety solutions to date. This past fall, we released the new PreView® Sentry™ and PreView Side Defender™—breakthrough technologies designed to propel object detection into the future. Our engineering team continues to work on new innovations and we look forward to continuing to provide heavy-duty industries with the most advanced safety systems available.
As you move into the New Year, make sure you’ve set yourself up for success. Not sure where to start? You’re not alone. Choosing safety technology from a manufacturer with a focus on exceptional customer service and product support is a good first step. What happens after the sales transaction is what matters the most to ensure safety for you and your fleet. Not only does it help alleviate headaches later on but it also helps protect your bottom line. A strong customer service team that knows what they’re doing and have your fleet’s best interest at heart is essential to ensure the successful implementation of safety systems.
If you’re still unsure if safety technology is cost effective for your fleet, find out for yourself if making the purchase is worth the investment. By uncovering the hidden costs associated with an accident, you’ll find that the initial upfront costs of investing the right safety solution can pay you back in spades. We take a look at what those costs are and break down the ROI equation for you.
With a continued focus on safety, it was great to see so many people hard at work creating safer work environments in 2016. We received numerous nominations for our annual Safety in Motion Award and are excited to introduce the nominees and finalists. Thank you to all who submitted nominations and to everyone who incorporates safety into the daily lives of their team and fleet.

We look forward to this New Year as we continue to share our safety mission and expand our safety solution opportunities and help you make 2017 the safety year yet.

The Importance of Post-Investment Customer Service and Support
How many times have you bought something you were excited about and were then underwhelmed by the customer service when an issue arose? It happens far too often in every business. It is especially disappointing when the investment was significant. For instance, let’s say you spend $3,000 on a new smart TV and it works great for the first couple of months. About six months in, it stops connecting to the internet so you take it back to the big box store. They tell you the warranty claim needs to go through the manufacture, and from there you receive the runaround.
The same applies to fleet safety solutions. Choosing active safety technologies that are right for your company’s specific needs is a big key to success. So is selecting products from companies that offer exceptional customer service and product support. After all, it’s what happens after the purchase that makes all the difference in ensuring that your workforce makes it home each night safe and sound.
Safety Technology: Is it Worth the Investment?
As you welcome in the New Year, make resolutions that have a strong return on investment. A new exercise and diet regime certainly pays off for your well-being; so does integrating solutions into your business that will make your company healthier and happier. One of the surest ways to do this in heavy-duty equipment industries is by incorporating safety protocol and technology into your workforce and fleets.
But with the cost of safety systems, does it really pay off to make that kind of investment, and if so, how quickly will you realize the return? Determining the return on investment (ROI) of safety technology is actually quite simple, and here’s how:
